Newlyweds

We're back! Honeymoon was wonderful! As soon as I get a free minute I will upload honeymoon pictures for everyone to see! We have been busy getting back into the swing of things, and putting away all of our wonderful gifts! Thank you to everyone who took the time to come to our wedding and share our special day with us! We love you all and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We Did It!

Waiting on Matt to change so we can hop in the limo and head up to Raleigh for the night before our flight out tomorrow!

Thanks to everyone who made today so memorable. We love you all and can't wait to share pictures and stories when we get back from Vegas!

Wish us lots of luck!

Tomorrow!

I am ready for bed. Tomorrow I wake up and I get to be the bride. How exciting!!! I can't believe the day we have planned so long for is finally here!

I want to take a moment to thank everyone for everything they have done. We had a wonderful rehearsal dinner tonight and it was great to see everyone together and having fun. Matt and I are ready to "take the plunge" tomorrow!

Please keep checking the blog after the wedding. I will post wedding pictures, reception pictures and honeymoon pictures when we get back.

Also, the announcement for our wedding will be in Sunday's Sanford Herald and The Fayetteville Observer. Pick one up and check us out!

Wednesday, July 23

3 Days!

We're getting so close to the big day! I am shocked!

Looks like this hippo is shocked too!

Got the programs to pick up tomorrow, need to meet with Dana tomorrow and get all the things lined up to go to the reception. Portrait is here, write-ups have been sent to the papers, and other little odds and ends have been done.

So there are a few more things to get done (packing for Vegas is #1 priority right this second), instead of blogging I should really get on that.

Hopefully I will blog a little more before Saturday!

Saturday, July 19

1 Week!

We are one week away from the big vows! I am very excited!!!

I finally found my dress for the rehearsal! I had found this particular one online and had planned to ordered it, forgot about it and then when I remembered today I was like "Ahh! It will never get here on time!" So after a few phone calls I have one on hold! Sweet!

All appointments have been made and setup, I am evening getting a massage on our wedding day, an awesome gift from a friend! Thank you Dixie!

Well that's about all for now, I need to continue doing a few odds and ends here and there... so here's to 7 days!

Wednesday, July 16

10 Days

We are getting very very close! Almost to the single digit days... wow! Instead of counting days I have started saying, "Next Saturday..." Crazy!

So I am a scheduling fool these days! I feel good about everything that will be done the day before and the day of. Both are busy days... nails, hair, makeup, luncheons, dinners, and thanks to an awesome friend a massage! Woo Hoo! Hope I can make it down the aisle after that! Haha!

This week and next consist of last minute checking on things and packing for Vegas!

Sunday, July 13

13 Days

With less than 2 weeks till our wedding Matt and I are busy busy! I am getting ready to start a new school year (Open House Monday Night, first day of school Wednesday). With that said, this coming week is Matt's last at work, so he has graciously offered to take on the task of wedding planner the week before the wedding. I will work the Monday and Tuesday the week of the wedding, just because it is the first full week of school and I feel bad leaving the kiddies.

Today has been a whirlwind of wedding hoopla! All day in Raleigh fetching this that and the other, but a lot was crossed off the list! Including some needed luggage and other Vegas necessities.

But the biggest task today has been music. Matt has really done a stellar job with this. He sat and preview dozens of songs for us, and played them over and over and over again. He found the most perfect song for this blushing bride to walk down the aisle to... it brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait for the big day!

Well here's to hopes that I can post many more times before the wedding!

Tuesday, July 8

18 Days

Picked up the wedding bands today (gorgeous) and our paperwork for Vegas! Woot Woot! Got the airline tickets, hotel voucher, show tickets and travel arrangements to and from the airport. I feel like everything is coming together.

Also talked to Joan today, the flowers have been ordered and everything is moving right along with that. I am excited!

Matt and I completed a Myers Briggs personality test last night for our pre-marriage counseling and we should have the results Saturday. We will have to post those when we get them! :)

Well that is about all for right now. I go back to school tomorrow so here's to a new year and a new group of 1st graders!

Monday, July 7

19 Days!

Matt and I got our marriage license today! Yay! I figured for fun I would take a few pictures...

Can you tell he is excited?!

That's better!

And I was all smiles! Less than 3 weeks to go!

25 Days

In 25 days our wedding will be here! We've been super busy with lots of things, some dealing with our wedding and some not. We've just returned from Greenwood, SC where we attended Jason and Beth's wedding (Congrats)! Beautiful! And in just a few days we will be at Kari and Nathan's wedding! Sunday is super close guys!

We got to taste test our cake on Sunday, yummy! And it looked great too! I can wait to see it on its grand scale! I am supposed to get the girls dresses sometime this week, they said they would be complete by the 4th. So I can't wait to get them and have them in hand for the big day. Hmm, what else... I think that is about it right now. We have meetings scheduled with the preacher, the director, the florist, the photographer and the caterer. Whew! Its going to be a wild month!

Wednesday, June 25

31 Days

I want to start of by saying that I love my caterer Aaron. He is so awesome and if you want a great caterer you should totally call him, love that guy. Here's one reason why.

Had planned to call the Wilrik, Joan, and Aaron today to sort through how many tables there were, how many flowers we would need etc. So I picked up the phone and called the Wilrik, I asked to speak to the office manager who I have talked to many many times before and paid a deposit to and I was told she no longer worked there. My heart sank. So I started to ask the new lady some questions and was told that I no longer had linens for my tables (the previous lady owned them and took them with her along with other decorations I was told I could use). So I started to panic. I called Dad and said, "You wanna go get some lunch?" So Dad and I rode over to Aaron's restaurant and had some lunch and I told Aaron about my phone call and how I didn't have linens and all this other madness. He goes, "Don't worry. I have linens for the food tables." So we chit chatted and he is going to do this awesome strawberry topiary thing for us that I saw on FoodNetwork.

Dad has been fitted for his tux and I bought him a nice new suit for Father's Day (he knew that is what I was going to do, wrote it in a card). Looked great on him, an olive color. He fussed and complained when I made him rent dress shoes to go with his tux. He wants to wear his boots. We'll see what happens there...

I am in the final stages of things. I was going through my wedding planning book and checking things off and there is not too much more to be done, thank goodness. My sweet flower girl turns 4 tomorrow! Speaking of her I need to schedule our hair and nails soon. Seems like I can't do to much of anything until July 1st when we meet with the preacher and decide what time the rehearsal will be at. Ugh, I wish I knew that now so I could go ahead and get things scheduled around it.

Well tomorrow marks 1 month left. I can't believe it is so close! Yes!!!

Tuesday, June 24

32 Days

Matt and I went Sunday and picked out the tuxedos and he was fitted. I am planning on taking Daddy up to Cary tomorrow to have him fitted. I just love checking things off the list!

The cake has also been more than half way decided on. The look and decorations has been picked but we still need to think of flavors... yum cake!

I went and talked to the man at the printing place about the programs today, very helpful. He said I have plenty of time to get those printed and not to worry. I love it when people say, "you have plenty of time" and "not to worry".

I plan to see Aaron the caterer tomorrow to ask him if he could make this thing I saw on TV the other day. He said if I saw something on FoodNetwork I liked to come talk to him, so guess what... I found something cool I think he can totally make!

I think that about covers things that have been going on... RSVP's are starting to come back in, thank you to everyone that has sent their's in with a song request, we've gotten some great ones! Also a GIANT thank you to all my bridesmaids and gal pals who threw the BEST Bachelorette Party EVER!

Friday, June 20

36 Days...

Oh, I love weeks like this one! No work, all fun and getting a ton of things done! Yay! Kari and I had lots of fun going to Fayetteville yesterday and getting her dress fitted, fits perfectly! Just a bit of adjustment in the shoulders. I think they purposely make those shoulders too big so that you have to have a fitting done. All my girls had to have their straps fixed. Today Amy and I are hitting the mall for bachelorette party outfit shopping! I am so excited about the big party tomorrow!!! Saturday will be very busy though, dress fitting in the morning for Stephanie and Amy and then some shopping and then PARTY! Woo Hoo!

I am hoping to get Matt up to the Cary Mall on Sunday to be fitted for his tux and go ahead and pick out everything so that the other guys can go up there and be fitted as well. Once that is done I will feel 100% better...

Our calendar is FULL from now until the wedding, this weekend my bachelorette party, next weekend SC for Jason and Beth's wedding, the weekend after that is Kari and Nathan's Wedding and then school starts back for me and 2 weeks later is our wedding! Whoa!

Well, I will keep everyone as posted as possible without ruining to many surprises!

Monday, June 16

40 Days

Our wedding is getting closer and closer! I am very excited. I don't have too much new news to report, things are kind of in a lull around here... thank goodness!

The report from Macon, GA is that the flowergirl dress has arrived and needs just a bit of adjustment to fit Miss Ava. I can't wait to see her in all her flowergirl glory! We hear that she is practicing her duties, mostly being quiet... ; )

This weekend will bring my batcheolorette party, woo hoo!!! Watch out! I can't wait to see what the girls have planned, I know we are going to have a great time!

Frankie and I went through twenty some photo albums this weekend looking for pictures of Matt in his younger years. Found some great ones! Now to make copies of those and copies of mine and get those ready for the reception. Thanks for all the help with that Frankie!

Well I am going to sign off for now! Hope everyone has had a great week!

Thursday, June 12

44 Days Away

The wedding is getting closer and closer! Wedding responses are starting to come back to us, we've had some great song requests! If you have more than one feel free to message us on here and we can add it to the list! :)

Ordered my garter tonight, woo woo! I am so excited, it is being made from a seller on Etsy If you have never checked out www.etsy.com you really should! They offer handmade items, anything you can really think of and the options are awesome! I love to check them out daily to see what's new.

Hmmm, what else... Oh, Matt and I should have our wedding bands next week! Yay! I can't wait to see them. My engagement ring is currently at the jewelers to have the bands matched up against them perfectly. We went with two small bands to wrap around my engagement rings and Matt went with a traditional band for his. Hopefully we will be able to get our marriage certificate this coming week, it is on the to do list.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Saturday, June 7

They're Gone!

Invitations are out! Mailed them this morning... Here I am so happy to be done with them.

Here's a sneak peek at the full box...

Also the flowers have been ordered and the bridedsmaid's dresses are safe and secure at Mom and Dad's house. So now the only thing really left is to get the guys fitted for their tuxs.

Sunday, June 1

Been Awhile... 55 days left!

Sorry its been so long since I have posted last. It has been very busy around here! This past week has brought lots of events, 2 showers, invitations arriving and my bridal portraits coming in! Fun stuff!

My dear students had a surprise bridal shower for me at school. It was too cute! They had kept the secret for 2 whole weeks, I couldn't believe it. We had cookies, M&M's, lemonade, and chips all on polka dotted plates. It was very sweet.

Then afterschool I was given a shower from all the staff at school. We had a great time and I received some wonderful things! I also received a ton of yummy recipes! Yay! A big thanks to 1st grade for throwing such an awesome shower!

And the invitations are in and they are awesome! Just what we wanted! Sadly, the post office has really let me down though. I mean you change the price of stamps for some crazy reason yet the only 42 cent stamps you offer are Frank Sinatra, a flag, and the liberty bell. Yeah, those really say Wedding to me... ugh. They also informed me that since my envelope was 1/8 an inch bigger than the regular size envelopes that it would cost a dollar to mail each one! Can you believe it?! Ugh! And you wouldn't believe what the dollar stamp looks like... it is a greek god. A half naked man on a stamp, oh yeah that is what I want to mail out to all my friends and family! So Amy the wonderful person she is researched online to help me find something and we came up with 2 of last years 2 ounce wedding stamps per envelope. But Mom and I had to drive to some teeny tiny post office in Fayetteville just to find them. But I have them now, thank goodness.

Oh and a date has been set for a Bachelorette Party! Woop Woop!

Well that's the latest. Hope all is well with everyone else out there!

Friday, May 16

Bridal Portrait, Invitations, and Napkins... Oh My!

Whew! What a week! It started out with my bridal portrait on Monday. I had a beautiful bouquet (thanks Joan) of pink Gerber Daisies. Had my hair done by Joy, it looked perfect and didn't move an inch! The dress fit great, the alterations were perfect!

So Dana took me to The House in the Horseshoe for an outside session. It was AWESOME! I can't wait to see the proofs. We also did some outside shots at The Old Mill and some inside shots at her studio.

I will tell you that when I put on the dress at the studio I had a bit of a "moment". I hadn't seen everything together, and when I saw the dress, the hair, the shoes, the jewelry, the makeup, the flowers, the everything... my heart skipped... I am getting married... whoa. It was a neat moment. Wonder when Matt will have his moment... at the alter when he falls out cold probably.

Matt and I also just sent the order in for our invitations. I can't wait to get them back. They are going to be perfect! Brandi was so awesome, if you ever need anything printed she's the one to go to! We also ordered cake napkins through her. They are super cute and Matt picked the design out.

Tomorrow we are going back to the jewelers to really pick out the bands (haha). As many of you know this has been something we can't decide on. So tomorrow is it, we are really going to do it (or so we claim). I can't decide about engraving though...

Well that is about it for now. I think as soon as I get these invitations sent out I will be on easy street (or at least that is what I am telling myself).

Bridal Shower *Lots of Pictures*

My wonderful family gave me a bridal shower this past Saturday. A big THANK YOU to everyone who came and a double thank you for all the wonderful gifts! Here are some pictures of the shower.

A "Hairy" 88 Days!

Monday I went to Joy Scott to have a practice run on my hair. I really like what she came up with. I am very pleased with it.

What do you think?
Hahaha! I didn't want to post real pictures I wanted my hair to be a surprise.

I also sent all the information for the invitations to Brandi and she is supposed to get samples to me ASAP. I am hoping for them by Thursday.

I plan to get my dress altered sometime this week, they said that I didn't need an appointment since it was such a small alteration. Yay for the small stuff! Haha!

Matt has 1 more exam, and it is Thursday! Then he will be done with year 2 of Law School! Then he will have more time to join in the fun of wedding planning. I am sure tuxedos will be the first thing on the list.

Seems that everything is going smooth... I have a bridal shower this weekend, fun fun!

Well that is the update, hope it finds everyone doing well!

Wednesday, April 23

94 Days

Since our last post we've been very busy! Matt is in the middle of final exams and I am thirty-some days closer to intersession! Yay!

I have also been very busy with wedding plans! I have my veil and an appointment to do a trial run on my hair. Now that I have the veil, my wedding attire is complete (which makes me so happy). I have to call Monday to schedule my fitting and I need to call Dana a setup the date for the portrait. Which means tanning bed tanning bed tanning bed. It also means start wearing my contacts to get used to them. Also spoke with Joan about my bridal portrait flowers and the flowers are being ordered.

I also spoke to another caterer and am in the process of picking. Our limo has been reserved and taken care of for our Honeymoon night before the big trip, we have a nice room in Raleigh for all of like 5 hours before our early early flight. I just received a phone call about the bridesmaids shoes and they are in, so more than likely this weekend I will be traveling to Smithfield to pick those up (big price cut at Carolina Bridal World). I am still waiting on their dresses, I am thinking they should come in next month.

I have a GIANT invitation book sitting on my kitchen table. I think Matt and I have decided on everything, and we even saw programs that will be perfect! I can't wait to get that to Brandi and receive a sample.

I am trying to think of what else has been taken care of since my last post... I have been SUPER busy doing things this week. I think that is all right now, if I remember it will just have to go in the next post!

Thursday, April 17

100 Days

Every year we celebrate the hundredth day of school... well today we are celebrating 100 days left till the big day! Yay!!!

Lots can be "checked off" the list...

Ordered the bridesmaids shoes, picked up their present (it is SO cute!), picked up our engagement pictures from Dana (they are SO awesome!) and we are in the final stages with the invitations. All that is left to do is food stuff, bridal portrait prep and I am sure many more little odds and ends...

Friday, April 11

Busy Bride...

I've been very busy tonight, booking all sorts of things!

Since Jamie and everyone else is wondering, let me just announce that Matt and I are taking Vegas by storm for our Honeymoon! We are very excited. Everything is booked and ready to go!

I just ordered our tickets to Cirque Du Soleil's Love (a tribute to the musical legacy of The Beatles), we have great seats and I am just so excited to see the show! I have wanted to see it for a long time now...

We've also booked our "Honeymoon Suite" all 5 hours worth of it considering our flight departs at like 6am Sunday morning (oh well, that is more time "on vacation"). We have a Honeymoon Suite at the Marriott near RDU, when we arrive we will have champagne and truffles... oh la la!

So tomorrows agenda is to go and place the order for the bridesmaids shoes (everyone has their size down now) and to call about transportation that night. 106 planning days to go!

Wednesday, April 9

Bridal Shower!

Saturday Matt's family on his mother's side threw us a bridal shower. We had so much fun and got such wonderful gifts! Thank you to the ladies of the Dowdy family for such a wonderful celebration! We had a great time!!!

Here are a few pictures from the shower...

I love how Dutch made it on the cake!

Don't drop the cake Matt!

Matt is ALWAYS taking notes! Haha!

Where did Matt run off to?

Here is the beautiful quilt that Matt's aunts and grandma gave us. It is personalized with this:

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." Matthew and Courtney July 26, 2008" on the front and our monogram on the back. It is so special!!!

A giant thanks to everyone! Only 108 days left!

Wednesday, April 2

115

It is hard to believe that the wedding is only 115 days away! Whew! So much to do in such a little amount of time!

I am really looking forward to my first bridal shower on Saturday at Grandma Dowdy's house. Frankie's sisters and mom are hosting. Thanks to Phyllis, Lynn, Debbie and Grandma Dowdy for doing this for us! We love you! I just can't wait to see what yummy recipes they have collected!

Matt and I decided on the Honeymoon plans. It is defiantly Vegas, but we are going to hold off on anymore announcing until I lock in our flights and rooms with Barbara hopefully tomorrow... I have been in contact with Brandi about our invitations, she is too sweet! I can't wait to see them in person. Also spoke with her about monogrammed napkins for the reception.

So that is 2 little things marked off the very long to do list. Tomorrow I need to call about a limo to take Matt and I from the reception to our hotel for the night before our flight out of RDU, and call to set up an appointment to talk to Bonnie about catering for mom, dad and I (Matt and I sort of picked the food, we just need to see how much each thing we picked costs), and call and get an update on bridesmaids dresses and my veil.

Well, the great bridal time line says that this month I need to think about favors. Don't worry I am ahead with that one! I have a great idea in mind, I guess now I should start the research!

Sunday, March 30

Added Accents!

Just thought I would post a quick picture of our table at Added Accents! It is SO cute! I just love it!

Everything is our picking except the flower picture and the lamp (although that lamp is pretty cool). Don't you just love all those bright colors?!

Close up on the little sign and the Tervis Tumbers that Shaun added to the table (we ordered tumblers similar to these with Q's on them).

Friday, March 28

Beautiful Day...

I hope that everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather today! The first thing that I thought of was how wonderful it would be to take a bike ride...

Oh, and Matt said no bikes for him. Haha.

Talked to Barbara at Wright Travel today. She is a super cool lady. Gave us lots of options and things to think about. Hopefully Matt and I can have time to sit down and crunch some numbers tonight or tomorrow... In fact that is what I am doing right now, calculating the difference in 4 nights and 5 nights and just finding out what Matt and I are able to afford and what we are willing to spend. Oh budgeting is so fun...

Thursday, March 27

Elvis and Pink Bicycles

What a blog title huh? I bet you are interested...

I have a meeting with Barbara at Wright Travel tomorrow to discuss Las Vegas! Woo hoo! Matt and I have discussed renting a hybrid car to take to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, I am really interesting to see how well it will drive... I am also really stoked about meeting Elvis, just throwing that out there.

So there is a really random item that has been added to the registry. A pink Schwinn Roxie Cruiser at Target. Ever since I laid eyes on this bike in Target I have wanted it, I have rode it around the toy department (in Apex, Cary, Fayetteville, all the local Targets) many many times ignoring my mom's pleading to stop. I have even blogged about it on my MySpace page...

So I decided to put it on the registry for the mere fact that everything that is not bought off the Target list after Matt and I tie the knot will be 10% off. It will be my excuse to finally buy that bike. I wonder if Matt wants to register for a bicycle? I will have to run that by him when I see him...

Wednesday, March 26

Special...

March 26th, 1998 Matt asked me to be his girlfriend. I said "yes". 10 years later here we are, getting married. Can you believe it? We picked July 26th to be married because 26 seems to be a lucky number for us both. Usually the 26th of any month is a great day, so I know today will be especially great! Wow, 10 years... that is amazing...

Bridesmaids shoes have been decided on! Now all that needs to be done is get the correct sizes and order them! It incorporates everything that we thought was necessary. Peep toe/open toe, retro-ish and not to high of a heel. Plus I love the little knot since the dresses will have tied sashes.

Matt and I have also been working on Honeymoon plans...

Tuesday, March 25

Let The Celebration Begin!

4 months till our wedding! Wow, time has flown! Matt and I have had a wonderful week. Saturday night was a blast, thanks to everyone who came to our Engagement Party and thanks to the awesome hosts Rick and Frankie! Two thumbs way up!

I have a few pictures from the night that I thought I would post. See if you can tell who is the ham in Matt and I's relationship...

The old App crew (Kari, Adam, Courtney, and Matt)
*Sidenote: All of us are getting married this year...
*Double-sidenote: Adam proposed to Lindsay the day before Matt proposed to me and neither one of them new it. Adam called on Monday to tell us the good news and Matt was like, "Well guess what..." Haha!

Jill, myself, and Barb. We're fabulous!

Adam, Courtney, and Nathan (Kari's fiance)

Me and Lindsay (Adam's fiancee)

Amy and I (can you tell I was happy she could make it?)

Jason and I... he's awesome

Whit and I... she's awesomer (haha)

Jessica and I! Check us out!

Adam and I give the party 3 thumbs up!

Stephanie (my BFF) and me! Hey my glasses are crooked...

Finally a picture with Matt in it. Thanks everybody!

Flowers and Things

Discussed all the flowers we would need for the wedding with Joan today. Whew, that is going to be a lot of daisies! I am pleased with all the ideas that everyone came up with. Matt's mom, Matt's grandma, my grandma and my mom were all there to help. It was nice.

Saturday Stephanie and I are going to head to Smithfield to get her opinion and size for the shoes. We picked out the same basic thing online, guess that is why we are best friends! So it just all depends what looks best on her foot...

Tomorrow Matt and I are going to look at wedding bands! I am super excited about doing that. I am also getting very excited about our party on Saturday night... I got the perfect dress yesterday! I am really pumped to wear it, even if I am not a "dress" girl, all these events might just turn me into one!

Wednesday, March 12

Fun Times!

I am officially very excited about all the happenings coming Matt and I's way! Engagement Party this month, Bridal Shower #1 in April, Bridal Shower #2 sometime in May, a His and Her's shower in June and a wedding in July! Whew! Something every month, I am tickled!

I found the cutest goodies for my bridesmaids this week, I am so pleased! I have to find a date next week that we can get together with Joan on the flowers for the church and the Wilrik. I have to get back with the caterer sometime after Easter about the food and I am still looking at hairstyles! I also need to start wearing my contacts more often so people are not like, "Who is that girl Matt is marrying and where is Courtney!?" Haha!

Saw my buddy Dana yesterday, ordered our Engagement pictures, can't wait until those come in. She sent us the most beautiful daisies. I will have to get a picture up for everyone to see.

Matt and I are going to dive into Honeymoon plans next week hopefully. They say the sooner we book the more $$ we can save. So that is moving up the ladder of importance...

Just 136 till were married and 2 more days until 3 weeks of peace and relaxation and wedding planning! Yay year round school!

Monday, March 3

10 Days Later...

Its a new month and 145 days until Matt and I say "I Do"!

Things have slowed down a bit... but I hear that is how it goes, the planning comes in waves. I need to let the florist know by the end of the month what my flower choices are for sure. I have to pick a hairstyle by the end of the month and we are deciding on invitations soon too (which means I have to go back to that guest list, oh boy). I hope that we can look at wedding bands sometime before the month is out. Matt and I have an appointment with the church tomorrow for our first session of pre-marriage counseling. I am also still on the hunt for shoes for my dear bridesmaids... but for some reason all silver shoes are metallic and that just won't work. I think it is going to come down to dye-able shoes... and if that is the case, that needs to be done ASAP as well.

My apologies about the not so frequent posting here lately... I was away from the computer for the most of last week. Oh, how I missed it!

Friday, February 22

155 Days

I can't believe the wedding in 155 days away! Whew!

I am so glad to be "flu free" now. It was awful. I am so happy that Matt has not gotten sick (knock on wood). I guess Hot Pockets are great for the immune system. Haha!

As far as wedding plans go the bridesmaids dresses have been ordered! They are so pretty, I can't wait for them to come in. Now the hunt for the shoes to match starts.

I've also talked to a travel agent about Vegas for our Honeymoon, talked to Joy about doing my hair for the wedding, ordered samples of some invitations we like and spoke to the bridal shop about fitting my dress. We also have a meeting with the church the first week of March for pre-marriage counseling. And I have to call about tanning this week, thank you Stephanie for mentioning my paleness...

3 more weeks until intersession, I imagine there will be lots of wedding planning during that time.

Sunday, February 17

Announcement

Our engagement announcement was in today's Fayetteville Observer. It is also online at this link if you would like to check it out.

http://www.fayobserver.com/celebrations/announcements/2008/february/0217/engag_Cox-Quinn.shtml

I have been sick since Wednesday with the flu, so I apologize about not updating the blog. Hopefully next week it will be back to the regular swing of things...

Sunday, February 10

Busy C

Yesterday was a whrilwind! Whew! Mom and I traveled all the way to Smithfield to pick up my shoes! Yay! And then drove to Fayetteville to pick up my veil, but when I got their mine was not in the order... so they are going to call me later in the week. So I guess when I pick that up I will schedule my fitting. Fun times!

Also picked up the unity candle yesterday, something totally different. Matt and I are really excited about it. Picked up the cake pans for Melinda, got a great deal on those. Picked up some ribbon that PERFECTLY matches the sash in the bridesmaids dresses. Look at a zillion invitations yesterday and this morning but I think we have found the perfect one, if the colors can be tweaked... I should hear back about that soon.

I am also very pleased that I bought a wedding scrapbook. I love to scrapbook and it has been awhile since I have done any since, well, I had nothing to scrapbook about! I have been looking for a great scrapbook and I finally found it last night at Joann's. Perfect. I can't wait to get started on it. I think it is going to be something I play with today. Also on today's plate is talking to Chef Paul about food. I am meeting with her later today. I wonder how much pigs in a blanket and cheese sticks will cost? Just kidding...

Tomorrow is wedding planning busy as well. Haircut after school and talking to Joy about doing my hair the day of the wedding. Checking with Sanford Rent-All about somethings. Whew!

Matt and I also decided that the Wilrik is going to be the spot for our reception. I need to get the paperwork to Lydia soon. I am just really happy that we had another great option so close to our wedding date. There are 2 big rooms but I only have decent pictures of the front room. Here are some pictures...

Oh Yeah...

What a wild week last week. I forgot to post these hilarious pictures on the blog! Matt was made Editor-in-Chief of Campbell's Law Review the same night Trace burned down, talk about timing. So since all that happened I never got around to posting these.

I was so proud of Matt I decided to get him a surprise, it was late and I had no time to bake a cake so I went to Super Walmart and bought a little cake and asked the lady if she would personalize it for me.

Here's the cake:

It says "Editor -n- Chef" and I LOVE it! When Matt came home I presented it to him and he didn't say a word. I inquired if he noticed something about the cake and he goes, "No what?" and I pointed out the "chef" part and he said, "Whew, you bought this? I wasn't going to say anything because I thought you mis-spelled it!" Hahaha! The sad thing is I am a horrible speller, but I would have checked spell check before writing it on the cake if I would have made it.

It is a really cute cake though, and makes for a great story! Notice the awesome yellow Fiestaware plate it is on?

Oh, I changed the background again. I love geometrics a great deal, stripes, dots, shapes, etc. So when this one popped up on the template page I had to put it on the blog.
