Newspaper

Monday I turned in our picture to the Sanford Herald to be printed in the engagement section. Everyone look for our smiling faces this Sunday, February 3rd. Also turned in the engagement announcement to the Fayetteville Observer for Sunday, February 10th. The great thing about the Fayetteville Observer is that they also post the announcement online! So as soon as that come out I will post a link.

Matt and I plan to go Saturday to finish our registry at Target and Linens and Things. We figure that we better do it early before Matt gets overwhelmed with school, but
I don't see how it is possible for him to be more busy than he already is.

I am also hoping to find my shoes sometime soon so I can go ahead and schedule a bridal fitting before all the prom people get started. So much to do!

Excitement!

I am very excited! I picked up the wallet sized engagement pictures from Dana today for the paper. I am getting everything ready tonight because right after work tomorrow I am going to Fayetteville to put one in the Fayetteville Observer (mostly for Mom's work) and then on Monday I am turning in the one for the Sanford Herald. I really like the form for the Observer though, it places your announcement online free of charge! Dad said he liked that, "free of charge" part. Haha.

So things are coming along quite well. I have high hopes to find my shoes and the girls shoes SOON. As soon as I find those bad boys I am going to schedule my gown fitting, and then I can schedule my bridal portrait. Whew. So much scheduling! And as soon as Matt can squeeze it in we are off to Target and Linens N Things to scan away!

Photos, Invites, and More

Waiting stinks. I know that everybody has to wait on things but I hate waiting. Wait wait wait... Last week I went to DWA Photography with my mom, dad and Matt's mom, Frankie and we picked out pictures. Actually, I only ordered wallets so that the pictures could get in the paper soon, and that is what I am waiting on... I can't wait to get those pictures back! :) Dana is supposed to email me soon with prices on some albums or a cool little easel thing. I will keep you posted. In fact now that I think of it, no one really placed an order. We all wanted to think about all the wonderful options Dana has. Frankie is looking at a collage, my mom and dad want a little "brag book" and I still don't know what I want. I know I need an 8x10 for the reception and a few 5x7s or 4x6s for family.

Checked out the invitations at the local Hallmark. I am a person that wants to check all my options before making a decision. Matt and I have a style we really like but it was kinda pricey so we are trying to find something very similar for less money.

Stopped by Added Accents today to register and saw my Kindergarten teacher (the very person who inspired me to become a teacher). She works there part time and was so excited that we wanted to register but suggested that I wait 3 weeks until the inventory is stocked up. So we plan to go back in a few weeks and get that taken care of. I see lots of Q monogrammed items on that registry!

We also came up with an awesome idea for favors but we are going to keep it a secret! I can't reveal everything on the blog!

New Look II

Matt vetoed the last background, he said is was too "wedding-y". I asked him what he thought the whole blog was about? Haha! No seriously, I could see what he meant. So we just went for something fun. There is no story behind it except that we both thought it looked neat.

New Look

Okay we have a new look for the blog. Send us a comment to tell us what you think! I have been wanting to spruce it up a bit and I really like this design. Matt and I finished our registry at Belks. We are hoping to get to Target very soon to do that part. We registered for our Fiestaware at Belks and that was pretty much all we decided on there. We want some funky items and well let's face it, Belks is not that funky. I took a few pictures of the Fiestaware that we have (thanks to Christmas and random shopping splurges) so you could see first hand how awesome it is!

Oh Wow...

For Better or For Worse... We know which one this picture is! Haha

No seriously, put this one under "for better" because Matt is a good sport about funny pictures and always makes me smile! I only wish you could hear the geeky laugh that goes with it... priceless.

199

199 days until our wedding. Wow. I have a little countdown clock on my Facebook account and that is what it is reading. 199 days...

Our cake topper came in the mail today. I Love it! I literally squealed like a 13 year old girl when I opened it. It is perfect! I am not going to reveal it though, it is going to have to be a surprise!!!

So since we didn't get mint green for our wedding, we are choosing some bold lime green for our registry. I love it, I am thinking a blue kitchen with these lime colored accents will be awesome. Some friends of mine were laughing at me today because I was retelling the story of Matt and I looking for some brightly colored towels and fun sheets at Belk's. They didn't have any, it was all cream and white... blah. I want some bright bold colors, polka dots, or some funky geometric prints. I know Target won't let us down!

We've Decided!

Stephanie and I are still shocked about the upcoming tying of the knot...

So we've picked out wedding colors officially... Light pink and silver. So the girls dresses will be those colors and the tuxs that the guys wear will have the silver in them. I am really tickled pink (haha) to have found these dresses. They look great on Amy and Stephanie and I just know that when Kari tries hers on it will look awesome on her too! Yay!

So we can cross that off of the "to-do" list. Colors picked and dresses found. We also semi-started our registry at Belk's in Sanford. We were kinda sad that they did not have all the pieces that we wanted but the lady there told us that she would order them and have them in the store of "reserve" when someone brought in the registry. Who knew they did such a thing!? We are going with Fiestaware for our dishes. We picked all the bright colors, Sunflower, Tangerine, Scarlet, Shamrock, Peacock and Plum. Our cabinets will look like rainbows. We do believe that the dishes will be the only thing we register for at Belk's, nothing else really struck our fancy. We are also going to register at Target and at Added Accents sometime in the near future. So we can cross out like 1/8 of that part of the list...

We meet with Dana on the 14th to discuss the engagement pictures and get an order together. I am really excited to see her in person to tell her how happy we were with the pictures and how thrilled we are that she will be doing the wedding and bridal portrait. I will also go ahead and schedule my bridal portrait date then too, so I can count back and get my dress altered... wait I think the "to-do" list just got longer...

Oh, and by the way... the last poll was tied for me getting my law degree and Dutchie signing a commercial contract. I can promise all our loyal readers that I will not be getting a law degree anytime soon! Oh and one more thing... how come no one wanted Matt learn to cook!? I sure did!!! Haha!

Bridesmaids Dresses

Stephanie and I are going to look at bridesmaids dresses today. I think I have found the one that I want the girls to wear. Very cute and fun!

Also received a website to check out some invitations. But before we can really do that we need to officially decide on the colors and I think after today we should know.

We are waiting on the church to call us back to set up our first meeting. Hopefully that will be soon.

Other than that I just need to decide a place to look at shoes. I did not particularly care for the shoes at the bridal store and I just don't feel comfortable ordering shoes out of a catalog. Any ideas where I can go try on shoes?

1st Post of the New Year

Here it is, the first blog of the new year. Welcome 2008! This is our year, the year of Matt and Courtney. 6 months and some change until the wedding! Woo Hoo!

Our engagement photos are in and they are great! We love you Dana! You are the woman! We plan to go ahead and meet with her this week to place an order and to get a picture sent in to the Sanford Herald and to the Fayetteville Observer (for mom's work people). So we will keep you posted on when you can view our happy faces in the paper.

We hope that everyone had a safe, and happy new year! 2008 is going to be a rocking year!!!
