What a Great Day!

So what I thought would be a very long day, turned out to be a very great day!

These came at lunch time... such a surprise!

And for no reason at all. I love my sweet sweet husband!

Then I went to a Teacher Appreciation Banquet put on by a local girl scout troop. So cute. I was able to eat with the student that invited me and it was super sweet.

The only thing that would have made today better was if I would have gotten home before dark to run, but there is always tomorrow and YES I will be hitting the pavement tomorrow for sure!

Valentine's Day 2010

Matt and I were invited by our friends Dixie and Chris to go to the Celebrity Dairy in Silk Hope, NC.

Let the adventure begin!

We had a delicious meal: It started with Goat Cheese and appetizers (so yummy), then moved into a salad with mushroom crepes. The main course was herb lamb roast with wild rice pilaf and green beans. We also had spelt rolls with homemade honey butter (1/2 goat milk, 1/2 cow milk butter). It was finished off with a whole pear poached in wine with sweetened goat cheese. We also received truffles to take home with us :)

We were able to go into the goat barn and see all the "celebrities".

Dixie and Xena the Warrior Princess's baby...

This is what Dutch would look like if she was a goat! Hahaha, Matt and I thought that this was SO funny!

I also took 2 hilarious videos...

We waited like 10 minutes to see this happen... It was worth it!

Dixie really wanted the jumping goat!

Thanks for the great time guys! We loved it, I am sure we will go back to The Celebrity Dairy soon!

Surprise!

Matt called yesterday and told me that I needed to be in a dress and heels by 7:30pm. I had no idea what we were doing so I was driving back from Sanford and came home and got ready.

Matt came home and had a beautiful bouquet of daisies (my favorite). We got in the car and I still had no idea where we were going. So we are driving towards downtown and I start guessing, guessed right... Sullivans!

We had a great dinner and drove home in the beautiful snow. What a wonderful night! Thanks to all the "cupids" who helped Matt pull it off :)

I did the top one, except I used a can of Manwich not spaghetti sauce. I also used my mega muffin tin for the first time and made BIG Bar-B-Cups.

Yum Yum Yum, comfort food :)

So Bad...

I am sorry I have been away... I was reprimanded by a blog reader today (you're right Sarah, I am slack). So here's a quick recap of the past few days, I think you will understand why there has not been a lot of time to blog...

Thursday Thanksgiving Thug

I Fought The Table and The Table Won...

Check out what I did yesterday at work...

Yeah, I almost broke both feet... awesome.

Here's what happened. School was over and I wanted to extend the legs on my horseshoe shaped reading table. So I thought I would just flip it over real quick. Half way through flipping it over, it slipped on the tile and fell on top of my feet. Scraped off a great deal of skin on both feet and well hurt like everything.

So I went to the nurses station and was then sent to the urgent care, where I had 6 xrays because we were all worried that at least the left foot was in fact broken, if not both. But all xrays came back that nothing was broken, yes! Just very bad swelling, which is turning into very bad bruising... yuck. I also the new owner of some shiny new crutches, fun fun.

House Hunting!

What an excellent day!

Matt and I started our first trip house hunting... we checked out one Open House (more the check out Sunday) and drove by a few houses that were for sale but not open. We have learned a lot about house hunting in just a few short hours:
#1: Pictures online can be very deceiving! There was one house that we really like, great location, big backyard with a fence and a good price.... yeah we found out why, nutty neighbors with a ton of junk outside their house!
#2: A GPS is a must when looking for houses in an unknown neighborhood. Thanks Garmin, we couldn't have done it without you!
#3: Matt and I do not like ranch homes. Sorry, we love stairs and the look of a 2 story home.
#4: We need a yard. Does not have to be a big yard, but we need some sort of yard.
#5: Everyone has a dishwashers but me.... its true.

Here are a few pictures of some houses we checked out today, I pulled all the pictures off of zillow.com...

Too cute! I think this one is my favorite just by the look of the outside, couldn't get inside.

Yes, I know we said no ranches, but this one kinda stood out... mostly because of the great price!

This one was really nice from the outside, sat on a corner lot.

We walked through 3 different floor plans at Creekside Commons and decided that we just had to have some sort of yard! Cute houses, I just loved the colors all lined up together. Would be perfect at the beach...

After all the house hunting was done we got a phone call from Matt's dad inviting us out to dinner. The whole Quinn family had a lovely dinner at Chef Warrens in Southern Pines. I love this place, everything is always so inventive, Nothing plain Jane about it. I had soft shell crab atop cheddar grits with grilled tomatoes, most everyone else had a filet, which looked delicious too. And I learned that yes I do like figs, if they are cooked in brown sugar and paired with prosciutto and cream cheese... yum! What an fantastic way to end such a wonderful day!
