Friday Friend 37

Friday Friend 37 is our almost complete Home Gym!



I've been working hard on the garage all week. Organizing and cleaning, trying to get a spot that I can workout in when the weather is either too hot, rainy, or come winter, too cold.

Daddy plans to install either ceiling fans with lights or just lights in two places in the garage. Currently we only have the shop light above the table.

I am looking forward to mounting a small TV (had a cable outlet put out there today) to watch TV while I use the elliptical.

I went to purchase some "puzzle piece" rubberized flooring today, but our local Walmart was sold out. I'll keep looking.

So far, so good. I feel like the garage is coming along!

Do you know how many online tutorial there are? There has to be one for almost EVERYTHING.

Look at what I came across today, too bad I didn't find this at the beginning of Spring Break because I really hate these brass door knobs, but alas replacing door knobs cost too much $.

• There is a new location in downtown Raleigh that Matt can walk to (lucky)
• I have been in a doughnut eating contest
• Krispy Kreme started on July, 13, 1937
• You can't get any better than a hot n now glazed doughnut
• Matt had never seen the doughnuts on the conveyor belt until we started dating (you are welcome for introducing you to greatness)
• Each week enough doughnuts are made to go from New York City to L.A.
  
• I dance when I eat doughnuts
• Krispy Kreme started in Winston Salem, NC
• 7.5 million doughnuts are made each day in North America.
  
• And they use 1.3 million pounds of sprinkles!

And there is better news yet! Here soon I will have my very own Hot 'n' Now sign just 6 stinkin' miles from my house! Yes! They are building a Krispy Kreme in the next town over! Don't even think I won't be there the day that sucker opens! God, I love doughnuts. Change that, I love good doughnuts (which rules out nasty Dunkin' Donuts).

The Wake County Public Library System!

Forget the old card catalog! Just hop online and make a list of books you would like, and BAM they are sent to your local library and you get an email saying, "Come pick them up". You just find your name on the shelf, take your books and self checkout! Perfect! And with so many libraries in the county, they have almost anything you could want to read!

My Neighborhood Harris Teeter!

I know you are thinking, "Big woop, a grocery store" but folks, this place is AMAZING!

Matt loves Harris Teeter because of this guy, Harry the Happy Dragon who gives away free sugar cookies. Matt will come to the grocery store just to get a free cookie...


I love the fact that Harris Teeter saves me a ton of money thanks to everyday double coupons (up to .99 cents), and specials like super double coupons (up to 1.98) and triple coupons (up to .99 cents).


But here is the number one thing that seals the deal that Harris Teeter is this weeks Friday Friend...

Pelican's SnoBalls & Homemade IceCream

You can't get any better than a SnoBall from Pelican's! I never go past Pelican's that I don't stop for at least a small Watermelon SnoBall. For those of you unfamiliar with what a SnoBall is, think of a Snowcone but super smooth, not grainy. Other names for SnoBalls are Hawaiian Shaved Ice and Italian Ice.



But let me tell you what Pelican's in Apex also serves... Homemade Ice Cream (for real homemade). I can tell you from experience that the Carrot Cake is banging! They put a WHOLE carrot cake in 5 gallons of ice cream... whoa.

Currently the Apex location is running on winter hours: Fri-Sun: 2pm-8pm

This week's Friday Friend is someone near and dear to my heart...

Bill Clinton

As most everyone who barely knows me is aware of, Bill Clinton is my hero. When I heard the news Thursday that Bill was taken to the hospital with "chest discomfort", I was heart broken. I received a lot of Facebook messages of people that had "thought of me" when they heard the news. No worries friends, Bill is Back! He is out of the hospital with 2 stints and will be back doing relief work for Haiti. Looks like rocking the Pimpin' like Clinton shirt Friday helped :) Yes, I do own a Clinton shirt, it has this very picture on it :)

• We are currently looking for a coffee table and side table

• Matt is happy we went with leather, and I like it now too
• Dutch likes it (I know, its bad to let her on the furniture)
