Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

As we speak Matt is enjoying Christmas Eve, watching Star Wars and reading... :)

We have already received some fantastic gifts! Yay Christmas! Thank you to Patti and Mike for the tulip bulbs and the awesome Appalachian Grill Tool, those burgers will taste even better with a big A on them! Thanks to Gmom and Gpa Quinn for all the gardening tools (will come in handy planting those bulbs) and the Lowe's gift card! Could be used towards a grill :)

Thanks to Ellie and Jimmy for the package of goodies that came in the mail the other day, we couldn't wait and opened it :) I LOVE the Joanns gift card! Already know what I am going to use it on and Matt is excited to pick out some new clothes with the Kohl's card :) I also loved the penguin fan pull and monogrammed soap. Ellie you can always find Q's, I have such a hard time finding them!

And did you see this week's fantastic Wordless Wednesday? That was a Christmas/House Warming gift from the McDonald family plus Hollie (you're family Hollie!). Oh how I have wanted that mixer... and now it is mine! Looks good in the kitchen too! :)

I am preparing our roast "beast" for dinner. Matt and I have our own little tradition where on Christmas Eve we watch the cartoon version on the Grinch (the only version in my opinion that is worth watching) and eat roast "beast". So that is in the crockpot smelling yummy...

Hope Santa is good to you!

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I have so much to be thankful for...

I am thankful for a wonderful husband to share my life with, for my sweet little doggie that makes my heart swell every time she howls when I come home, for a wonderful family that I love dearly, for fantastic friends that keep my spirit up and make me laugh. I am thankful for my 1st home, for technology, for my blogfans :) and for chocolate. I am thankful for naps and bad reality TV that makes me laugh. I am thankful for snow days, workdays, intersession, and summer vacation :) I am thankful that I have a job, food to eat, rights and freedom. I am thankful for knee socks, that this paint matches and now we don't have to paint the whole bottom level of our house (our Thanksgiving miracle).

When you think of all we have, you just have to be grateful. Today should be a day that we truly thank each person in our lives for being there. May each and every one have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

Happy Birthday Nema!

Today is my grandma's 82nd birthday! Happy Birthday Nema! My grandma is a very special person, not only to me but to everyone she knows! I grew up spending every weekend and summer at her house, learning tons of things. My Nema is the one that taught me to quilt and sew, how to make salmon patties and apple turn overs. She is where I get my love for vintage things, and animals. She amazes me with her green thumb and big heart. Happy Birthday Nema!

Back in Boone

This week I was lucky to have my family up from Georgia. Amy and I got the chance to get back up to Boone when our family rented an awesome cabin for a whole week! Too bad that Amy and I only got to stay one day... but we made the most of it!

Ava gives Boone 2 big thumbs up!

First night, Outback in Blowing Rock, Ava is a good shot with a straw!

Tubing at Hawksnest! This was the first time Ava had seen snow. It was so much fun!

Ava and her "post-tubing" hair and a giant cookie!

Snow Day 2009

Yay for all the snow! I bet we have 4 inches. Here are some pictures that I have taken this morning...

Matt is sad because when he checked the Campbell Law website he had to go to class at regular time, I on the other hand am very happy because I do not have school today!

Dutch REALLY loves the snow...

It was nearly impossible to get her back inside...

Then I get a cell phone call from Matt...

He didn't even make it a mile down the road. The irony of this is when he called Jason to tell him to call everyone to tell them that they don't have to do read-alouds Jason tells him that he is on campus and they just canceled classes.

Ronnie to the rescue! I am just shocked that nothing happen to Matt or the Jeep (thank goodness for Alex)!

Dad's truck tows the jeep right out. Good as ever...

Matt and I are cuddled up on the couch watching the Inauguration. I am really glad that we get to watch history being made together! Hope everyone is enjoying this awesome day!
